Recognizing Long Covid Awareness Day: Resources for You

Every year on March 15, our community pauses to recognize Long Covid Awareness Day—a day to acknowledge the millions of people whose lives have been changed by long-term illness following infection, and to reaffirm our commitment to research, advocacy, and support.

Long Covid has affected people of all ages and backgrounds. For many, it means navigating persistent symptoms that disrupt work, family life, and everyday routines. For others, it has been the start of a much longer journey with infection-associated chronic conditions, including illnesses like ME/CFS and related disorders. Behind every statistic is a real person—and often an entire family—working to adapt to a new and uncertain reality.

Long Covid Awareness Day is an opportunity not only to recognize these challenges, but also to highlight the progress being made. Researchers around the world are working to better understand why Long COVID happens, how it affects the body, and what treatments might help. At the same time, advocates and patient communities continue pushing for the resources, policies, and recognition that people living with these conditions deserve.

At Solve, we remain focused on accelerating research and advancing policies that will lead to better diagnostics, treatments, and ultimately prevention. We also know that information is power. Access to clear, trustworthy resources can help people better understand what they or their loved ones may be experiencing and find ways to navigate the road ahead.

To mark Long Covid Awareness Day, we’ve joined forces with #MEAction, Bateman Horne Center, and the Open Medicine Foundation as #UnitedForME. We’ve gathered a set of resources designed to inform and empower patients, caregivers, and supporters. These materials include:

  • Easy-to-understand summaries of the latest research
  • Clinical care guides dedicated to Long Covid and related conditions
  • Resources for patients and caregivers navigating life with chronic illness
  • Links to webinars featuring Long Covid researchers and other experts in the field

Whether you are living with Long Covid, supporting someone who is, or want to learn more, we invite you to explore and download these resources.

Solve recently called for the designation of March 15 as International Long COVID Awareness Day in Los Angeles. The resolution passed, and City Hall was lit in teal on March 15 to mark the occasion.

We’ve also drafted a sample media pitch letter that you can personalize and send to news outlets to encourage reporters to cover Long Covid Awareness Month. You can download it here.

Awareness days/months matter because they help bring visibility to conditions that often go unrecognized or misunderstood. But our work and the work of this community continues every day. Together, through research, medical education, advocacy, and shared knowledge, we can move closer to answers and better care for everyone affected.

Thank you for being part of this community and for helping shine a light on Long Covid.
