Advocacy Month is an opportunity to share the policy solutions vital to address the growing number of individuals suffering from ME/CFS and Long Covid.
ME/CFS devastated the lives of an estimated 2.5 million Americans before the pandemic. Because of the pandemic, those numbers are now estimated to be between 5-9 million. Today, millions of Long Covid patients are being diagnosed with ME/CFS.
This year, we have TWO main asks of the House and Senate chambers of Congress:
HOUSE:
- Please co-sponsor the TREAT Long Covid Act (HR 7482), which:
- Authorizes Centers of Excellence for post-Covid multidisciplinary care
- Prioritizes funding for care centers with existing post-infection disease expertise
- Please co-sponsor the COVID-19 Long Haulers Act (HR 2754), which is:
- Bipartisan
- Funds research, education, and support services for individuals with Long Covid and related post-infection diseases
SENATE:
- Please co-sponsor the TREAT Long Covid Act (S 4015), which:
- Authorizes Centers of Excellence for post-Covid multidisciplinary care
- Please co-sponsor the CARE for Long Covid Act (S 3726), which:
- Funds research, education, and support services for individuals with Long Covid and post-infection disease
