Solve Urges Congress to Pass the FY2026 Defense Appropriations Act

As part of our ongoing coalition work, Solve M.E. joined over 157 organizations in urging Congress to pass a fully funded FY2026 Defense Appropriations Act. This annual bill includes the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP), a critical source of funding for scientific research on infection-associated and chronic diseases like ME/CFS and Long COVID. Without final appropriations, these programs are at risk of devastating cuts – just as we saw earlier this year under a long-term continuing resolution that slashed CDMRP funding by 57%.

We are working alongside the Defense Health Research Consortium (DHRC) to advocate directly to House and Senate leadership. Delays in passing this bill not only stall life-saving research but also harm scientific progress and disrupt the workforce behind medical innovation. We’ll continue pushing for bipartisan action to protect CDMRP and ensure research funding is restored and expanded.
